Hartlepool United sell out full allocation for National League play-off final against Torquay United after fans camp overnight to secure tickets

On Monday morning, around 3,100 tickets went on priority sale for the match at Ashton Gate. On Wednesday, the remaining 1,500 or so tickets went on general sale.

But with no online ticketing system in place, fans have had to get their tickets over the phone or in person from the Victoria Park ticket office.

That led to fans queuing up for over 16 hours overnight in order to guarantee a ticket and the club’s phone line going into overload due to the incredibly high demand.

Fans have also sold out a chartered flight from Teesside International Airport to Bristol Airport on Sunday.

With coronavirus restrictions remaining in place for the final at Bristol City’s 27,000 all-seater stadium, many fans will have unfortunately missed out on watching the club try and secure promotion back to the Football League due to the limited ticket allocation.

Torquay have sold out their allocation, meaning the match is a ‘sell out’ despite the stadium being less than a quarter full.

Reselling tickets is also not an option due to Ashton Gate’s Covid-19 stadium policy, which states: “Tickets/passes issued to you cannot be sold or given on to another person. Photographic identification may be requested on entry or whilst on the Stadium footprint.”

Any fans in possession of a re-sold ticket should seek an immediate refund in order to avoid disappointment ahead of the 274-mile trip down to Bristol.
