Pools are set to face Torquay United at Ashton Gate on Sunday, June 20 (2pm kick-off) for the National League promotion final.

Many supporters have questioned the choice of Bristol City’s 27,000 all-seater stadium as the venue for this season’s play-off final given its geographical location.

The lucky 3,100 or so Poolies attending the match will have to make a near 600-mile round trip from Hartlepool to Bristol. In contrast, Torquay’s round journey will be under 200-miles.

As a result, the club have arranged a number of away travel options, most notably a chartered flight from Teesside International Airport. Fans willing to shell out £335 will get a return on the day flight to Bristol with a coach transfer to Ashton Gate available at an additional charge.

The flight will last one hour and 15 minutes, leaving Teesside International Airport at 10:30am and arriving at Bristol airport at 11:45am. The return flight will depart Bristol at 6pm, arriving back in Teesside at 7:15pm.

A club statement said: “In the event of extra time and penalties, this departure time is flexible if required.”

As it stands, the chartered flight is subject to all 72 available seats being filled. Anyone interested should email [email protected] by Tuesday 15th June at 5pm.

Back in March 2021, Pools confirmed a partnership deal with Teesside International Airport which saw the Neale Cooper Stand officially renamed.

For those without a spare £335 to fork out, a more traditional coach travel option has also been provided by the club for £50 per person.
