Around 1,700 fans made their long awaited return to Victoria Park for the final day of the regular 2020-21 season against Weymouth.

To mark the occasion, one young supporter gifted Gavan Holohan his stuffed teddy named after the Pools midfielder prior to kick-off.

And it proved to be something of a lucky charm for the Irishman as he netted his 11th goal of the season to wrap up a 4-0 victory.

When celebrating his fine solo effort, Holohan ran straight to Bobby to thank him for his kind-hearted gesture. It was a touching moment that summed up the special connection Pools has with its supporters.

After the match, Holohan tweeted: “Special day having you all back, you’ve been missed. Great performance from the boys.

"Bobby gave me his teddy named Gav so there was only one man I was running to. Hope you had a good day little man!”
