Hartlepool Borough Council free fireworks display at Seaton Carew is on amid cancellations elsewhere after Storm Ciaran

Hartlepool Borough Council is putting a fun-packed display at Seaton Carew on Sunday 5th November.
While several official displays around the country have been cancelled due to bad weather, Hartlepool’s is set to go ahead.

Hide AdThe display will light up the sky from the bus station to the children’s play area along The Front.
For safety reasons, the beach in this area will be closed during the display.
Activities start from 2pm with a children’s fairground and street performers along the prom.
The fireworks will start at 5pm and the event ends at 6pm.
The council is reminding people planning on attending of parking restrictions that will be in place on the day.

Hide AdVisitors are urged to walk if possible, or for those coming by car the 650-space Seaview ‘Sandy’ Car Park just south of the Clock Tower will be free from 3pm.
But on leaving, drivers will only be able to turn left until The Front is reopened.
The Hartlepool Bay Car Park near Newburn Bridge will also be open.
And parking restrictions will be suspended on the northbound side of Coronation Drive between Warrior Drive and the steelworks bridge access road from mid-afternoon.

Hide AdBut the Rocket House Car Park will be closed throughout the whole day.
Councillor Sue Little, vice chair of Hartlepool Borough Council’s Adult and Community-Based Services Committee, said: “Our Fireworks Spectacular is one of the best-loved events in the Hartlepool calendar and we’re lining up another dazzling display, as well as some unusual street-performers to keep you entertained in the build-up to it.”
The event is being supported by headline sponsor X-energy and town building merchants MKM Building Supplies.
Lookout for the stars of this year’s Hartlepool Christmas pantomime, Peter Pan and The Lost Boys.

Hide AdThere will also be a fancy dress competition for children aged 16 and under with a family ticket for the panto up for grabs.
As in previous years, The Front at Seaton Carew between the Station Lane and Elizabeth Way junctions will be closed to traffic from 4.15pm to 6.30pm.
And enforcement teams will be out and deal with any inconsiderate or illegal parking in residential streets.
Parking will not be permitted on De Havilland Way and in the wider Dunes housing estate.
The weather forecast is for a dry but chilly evening (8C).
