Primary schools celebrate Hartlepool United promotion by wearing club kits and colours for the day

Following Pools dramatic play-off final win on Sunday, children at the town’s Jesmond Garden Primary School were invited to go into school on Monday wearing Hartlepool kits or team colours.
Headteacher Philip Pritchard said: “It’s a fantastic thing not just for the club but for the whole town and we wanted to celebrate it.
"We had some staff members who were at the game.”

Among them was Aaron Hall, a higher learning teaching assistant, who said: “It was an amazing experience. It was one of those games where I could say ‘I was there’.”
Following Pools’ victory, the school quickly messaged parents suggesting children wear Hartlepool kit and had a great response.
Mr Pritchard added: "It’s lovely for the children to share in a fantastic thing. There were lots of smiling faces and tired children.”
A similar invitation at the town’s St Joseph’s Primary School allowed pupils to wear club shirts or blue and white clothing.
