Hartlepool Rugby Club will get a taste of the big time

A Hartlepool rugby club has won the chance to host a game at the home ground of a Premiership neighbour.

Hartlepool RFC, which play in Division Two of the Northern Division, will get to host a match at the Newcastle Falcons’ Kingston Park.

It is the ‘ultimate prize’ for Hartlepool selling the most Falcons tickets through a Club Connections Scheme in the first half of the 2015/16 season.

A Hartlepool RFC spokesman said: “The Ultimate Rugby Prize gives us the opportunity to host a match at Kingston Park Stadium.

“The prize includes use of the main pitch, home and away changing rooms, scoreboard, PA system to be manned by someone from the club and food for both teams and officials after the game.”

Meanwhile, Hartlepool RFC is to host a Premiership Rugby Academy Camp in association with Newcastle Falcons.

It will take place at Mayfield Park, Easington Road, on Friday, February 19, from 10am-3pm.

The camp is open to youngsters aged 6-16 of all abilities. They will receive five hours of coaching from DBS cleared RFU qualified Falcons Community Foundation coaches, a camp T-shirt as a memento of their day, a visit from a Newcastle Falcons player and a free ticket for a Falcons game.
