Pools have lost both away matches they’ve played so far in 2021 and have won just one of their last seven matches on the road.

It’s quite the contrast with the side’s home form as Holohan’s 90th-minute winner against Yeovil Town saw Hartlepool claim a seventh successive win at Victoria Park.

It’s a run that sees Pools sitting third in the National League table at the halfway stage in the season.

But in order to push on and mount a serious promotion challenge this time out, Holohan feels that away form needs to be addressed quickly.

On Tuesday night Pools make the trip to face a Wrexham side who suffered their first defeat in seven matches at Aldershot Town over the weekend.

The Dragons are now officially under new ownership after the takeover of Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney was finally ratified earlier this month.

And Holohan, who described himself as a ‘big fan’ of Wrexham’s new owners, is keen to right the wrongs of Pools’ defeat against the Welsh outfit earlier in the season.

“It’s a massive game against a team on a good run who have climbed the table,” he said.

“We felt hard done by when we lost the game here because we battered them that night to be honest. It was just one of those nights where we couldn’t find the net and they hit us with a sucker punch.

"We’ll be looking to put that right on Tuesday night and it’s a big game where we’re confident going into.

“We’ve made [Victoria Park] a bit of a fortress now and that needs to be the case but the only disappointment for us has been our away form.

"We’ve been in a lot of games away from home but it just hasn’t fallen for us so if we can get a better mix of the two and start picking up points away then we’ll find ourselves up around where we want to be come the end of the season.”
