The Irish midfielder enjoyed a phenomenal run of form in April with three goals in four matches as Pools picked up 10 points out of a possible 12 available.

Crucial goals in the wins over Dagenham & Redbridge, Notts County and the draw at Boreham Wood saw the 29-year-old pick up his first player of the month accolade in Pools colours.

Following the player of the month announcement, Holohan tweeted: “Clearly the assist for Lukey against Chesterfield sealed it.” A tongue in cheek reference to his open goal miss which hit back off the post and allowed Luke Armstrong to score in a 3-1 win over The Spireites.
