Hartlepool United midfielder Gavan Holohan named National League player of the month for April following prolific scoring run
Hartlepool United midfielder Gavan Holohan has been named the National League’s player of the month for April 2021.
The Irish midfielder enjoyed a phenomenal run of form in April with three goals in four matches as Pools picked up 10 points out of a possible 12 available.
Crucial goals in the wins over Dagenham & Redbridge, Notts County and the draw at Boreham Wood saw the 29-year-old pick up his first player of the month accolade in Pools colours.
Following the player of the month announcement, Holohan tweeted: “Clearly the assist for Lukey against Chesterfield sealed it.” A tongue in cheek reference to his open goal miss which hit back off the post and allowed Luke Armstrong to score in a 3-1 win over The Spireites.
Elsewhere, Torquay United boss Gary Johnson was named manager of the month following a run of six wins and a draw in April to take The Gulls to the top of the National League.
