Here's what our Hartlepool United writer Robbie Stelling made of the Pools players as Nicky Featherstone's side battled to a hard-fought point against Scunthorpe United.

5. Cameron John: 7
Not as impressive as his defensive counterparts and he allowed Danny Whitehall to steal in front of him for Scunthorpe's best chance of the game towards the end of the first half. Nonetheless, limited Scunthorpe skipper Callum Roberts to a handful of hopeful balls into the area as well as a couple of efforts from range; there can't have been too many National League full-backs who have managed to keep him so quiet this term. 6. Jack Hunter: 7
Put himself about well even if he conceded a couple of fouls in dangerous areas. Produced one poor defensive header but in general screened the back line diligently and managed to impose himself on the contest. Photo: Frank Reid

7. Nathan Sheron: 6
Worked hard and covered plenty of ground but wasn't able to influence the game as much as he might have liked. Photo: Frank Reid

8. Jamie Miley: 5
Didn't ever really feel like his sort of game and he was a peripheral figure before being replaced. Photo: Frank Reid
