Here's what our Hartlepool United writer Robbie Stelling made of the Pools players following Saturday's damaging defeat at home to Halifax Town.

5. Cameron John: 6
Did well at left-back in the first half but was less convincing after being moved into the heart of defence after the break. Photo: FRANK REID

6. Nathan Sheron: 7
Kept things simple and won plenty of challenges in the engine room. Produced two excellent lofted balls over the top to unlock Halifax's back line, a refreshing change from his generally more conservative passing. Photo: FRANK REID

7. Jack Hunter: 8
Had one of his best games in a Pools shirt against his former side, particularly in the first half. Saw plenty of the ball, tried to make things happen with some incisive forward passing, kept the home side ticking over and steamed into one strong challenge. Allowed Josh Hmami to glide past him on one occasion in the second period but was pretty much faultless other than that. Photo: Frank Reid

8. Adam Campbell: 4
Looks totally bereft of confidence and is really struggling at the moment. Gives everything but is becoming the subject of increasing criticism from the terraces and it was a surprise not to see Nicky Featherstone take him out of the firing line. His afternoon - indeed, his time at Pools so far - was summed up when he overhit a relatively simple through ball from a promising position, inciting the ire of frustrated home fans.
