Here's what our Hartlepool United writer Robbie Stelling made of the players after Pools moved to within striking distance of the top seven by getting one over on promotion-chasing Carlisle United in midweek.
5. Cameron John: 8
Totally dominated David Ajiboye defensively and dovetailed well with Tyrese Sinclair in an attacking sense. Was unfortunate not to score just before half time and was a constant menace with his energetic and determined forward runs. Photo: Frank Reid
6. Jack Hunter: 7
A really calming presence in the engine room although he will have been disappointed not to have scored his first goal of the season after dragging an effort wide from close range. Photo: Frank Reid
7. Nathan Sheron: 8
Having been left out for the first time all season on Saturday, the indefatigable midfielder looked back to his best and got the crowd going with several trademark tough tackles. Photo: Frank Reid
8. Matty Daly: 7
Lacked a bit of poise in the final third but ran his socks off and popped up with a couple of important defensive interventions. Photo: Frank Reid
