Hartlepool United travel to Stockport County on Sunday for the National League play-off semi-final.

Pools finished a point behind Stockport in the National League table and therefore missed out on a home play-off semi-final but last Sunday’s 3-2 win over Bromley saw Dave Challinor’s side progress to face the Hatters at Edgeley Park.

As with all play-off matches, the game will be broadcast on live television as both sides look to make the play-off final at Ashton Gate on June 20 (2pm kick-off).

When is Stockport County v Hartlepool United?

The match between Stockport and Pools will take place at Edgeley Park on Sunday, June 13.

The kick-off time is scheduled for 12pm.

Two hours later, England will kick-off their European Championship campaign against Croatia at Wembley Stadium so it’s nicely timed for a good day of football should the game not go to extra-time.

A draw is 23/10 with the same outlet, whilst Stockport are the clear favourites priced at evens to progress to the play-off final.

The play-off semi-final match will be broadcast live on BT Sport 1 from 11:30am in the UK.

How have previous meetings between Stockport County and Hartlepool United finished?

To progress, Pools will have to pick up their first win at Stockport since 2003.

Hartlepool went unbeaten against The Hatters during the regular National League season with a 1-1 draw at Edgeley Park in March following a 4-0 home win at Victoria Park in December 2020.

Pools’ only defeat to Stockport in the National League came in October 2019 as they were beaten 2-1 in what would prove to be Craig Hignett’s last game in charge.

Around 2,500 Stockport fans will be permitted to attend Sunday’s play-off semi-final. Hartlepool United supporters will not be allowed to attend the match due to coronavirus restrictions remaining in place.

Is there any early team news for Hartlepool United?

Defender Lewis Cass is expected to miss the match with a hamstring problem while Ben Killip and Joe Grey remain sidelined for the rest of the season with respective elbow and back injuries.

Barring any late withdrawals, Pools are likely to name an unchanged side from the team that beat Bromley 3-2 at Victoria Park on Sunday afternoon.
