The impressive record Hartlepool United will hope continues for ex-Bradford City and Derby County striker at Swindon Town

Robinson, 33, arrived at the Suit Direct Stadium little over a week ago having been out of contract since the end of last season. The striker made his debut in the 2-1 defeat at Harrogate Town before also featuring in the Papa Johns Trophy nightmare against Everton under-21s.
But if the Pools interim boss has questioned whether three games in seven days may be a stretch too far for Robinson in his first week at the club, then he may want to consider the 33-year-old’s record when coming up against the Robins - something the striker has been keen to remind Curle about.

“He’s had a couple of braces and I think he won goal of the month there as well so he’s constantly been reminding me in my ear that he needs game time at Swindon.”
And Robinson is right. The experienced striker has netted six times in his last seven appearances against the Robins - as well as a successful loan spell with the Wiltshire club in 2019.
Robinson scored for Bradford City on his last visit to the County Ground almost a year ago to the day. It was a goal which would help cap a 3-1 win for the Bantams as well as scoop Robinson the League Two goal of the month award for October and Bradford’s goal of the season award.

Robinson scored the winner at the County Ground for Doncaster Rovers in the 2014-15 campaign but it was his spell with Colchester United in 2019-20 where he caused the most problems for Swindon, scoring twice in each of the U’s’ 3-0 wins.
During his loan spell at the club, Robinson found the back of the net seven times in 16 appearances in the league with five of those coming at the County Ground.
And with Pools struggling for form at the bottom of League Two, Robinson’s instinctive record against Swindon may just be something Curle can tap into this weekend.
