Here’s a look at who could stay and who might leave from the current crop:
5. Tom Parkes
A revelation since signing from Livingston in January, Parkes has played enough games this season to trigger an extension and should remain at the Suit Direct beyond this summer. As long as he can stay fit, he should have an integral role to play at the heart of the Pools defence for at least another year. Photo: Mark Fletcher
6. Luke Waterfall
Waterfall agreed a longer term deal than Parkes when he arrived just a fortnight after his central-defensive partner. Adds leadership and experience, having twice captained sides to promotion from the National League, and has been a huge positive since signing from Grimsby. Photo: Mark Fletcher
7. Alex Lacey
Injuries have followed the luckless defender throughout his career and his two year spell in the North East has been no different. With that in mind, it seems very unlikely that Pools will opt to offer him a new contract and he could be set to head back down south. Photo: Frank Reid
8. Manny Onariase
Has made plenty of mistakes, but has also had some really good games and was probably his side's best central defender prior to the arrival of Waterfall and Parkes. It could be that a two year deal was required to tempt him to up sticks and swap Dagenham & Redbridge for the North East, and he's far from the worst option to have as back up if so. Photo: Frank Reid
