A 22-year-old man has been charged with drug offences after a police raid unearthed a cannabis farm worth half a million pounds in Seaton Carew.

Following a police raid at a residential property on The Green, in Seaton Carew, on Wednesday, February 5, officers discovered 478 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of £500,000.

Officers have confirmed a 22-year-old was arrested and charged following the raid.

A spokesman for the force said: “A 22-year-old man was charged with production of a class B drug. He was due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court on Thursday, February 6.
