Search for missing Hartlepool man Gabriel Kariuki continues as family supported by police
Police have made a new plea for helping in tracing a man missing for three weeks.
Twenty-six-year-old Gabriel Kariuki was last seen by his mum on Monday, May 17, in the Grange Road area of Hartlepool.
There was another sighting of him in early hours of Tuesday, May 18, in Victoria Road, in Hartlepool, close to Loons public house.
Police have said they believe he was walking in the direction of the Marina.
Officers later released CCTV pictures they believe could show Gabriel boarding a train to Middlesbroughat 8.28am on Tuesday.
Police have said inquiries to locate him are “on-going” as they continue to support his family and have asked for anyone with information on Gabriel’s whereabouts to contact them.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: “Inquiries to locate Gabriel are on-going and we continue to provide support to his family at this very difficult time.
"We would again appeal for anyone who has seen Gabriel or who knows of his whereabouts to contact Cleveland Police immediately via the 101 number.”
Gabriel is described as a black male, of medium build, and around 5ft 6in tall, with black hair which was braided on top and shaved at the sides.
The force say he was wearing a blue corduroy jacket with a cream shearling collar when he went missing.
This jacket was a waist-length, jean jacket style.
He was also wearing black tracksuit bottoms, a green hooded top underneath the jacket and orange Nike brand trainers. He had a black rucksack with him.
Gabriel has links to Birmingham and Luton and police have said he might have travelled there by train as well.
