Hartlepool United winger admits future 'up in the air' after scoring brace in final home game of productive loan spell

Hartlepool United winger Tyrese Sinclair admits his future is "up in the air" after he bagged a brace in Tuesday night's thrilling 4-3 win over Southend United.

The 25-year-old, who is the son of former Chelsea, Leicester City and Burnley defender Frank, has impressed since signing for Pools on loan from title-chasing York City in January, scoring five goals in 15 games.

Having featured regularly for the Minstermen last season, Sinclair appears to have fallen from favour at the York Community Stadium this term and Pools fans are hoping their side might be able to complete permanent deals for the wideman as well as fellow York loanee Cameron John over the summer.

Whether or not Pools are able to lure Sinclair back to Victoria Park over the season remains to be seen - York will be crowned National League champions if they avoid defeat at title rivals Rochdale on the final day of the season this weekend - but if Tuesday night's game against Southend is to be his last in the North East, then Sinclair will have gone out in style.

Having gone behind inside 60 seconds when Andrew Dallas bundled the ball home for the visitors, Sinclair lashed home a superb volley following Jamie Miley's free-kick to draw Pools level before scoring his second goal and his side's third after the break.

"It was a good game," Sinclair told BBC Radio Tees Sport.

"It was a mad start but we made a couple of changes to the way we were playing and that helped us, the boys reacted well and we're pleased to get three points.

"It's all a bit up in the air at the minute, York and Rochdale have got a massive game at the weekend so we'll wait and see. I'll weigh up all my options.

"I think it's in York's hands, so I've just got to see what they want to do with me and take it from there."
