Hartlepool United defender 'buzzing' after securing loan move
Hartlepool United youngster Campbell Darcy reacts after joining National League North club Hebburn Town on loan for a third time.
Hartlepool United youngster Campbell Darcy has described himself as ‘buzzing’ to have returned for a third loan spell with National League North club Hebburn Town.
The versatile wing-back was part of the Hornets squad that surpassed all expectations last season to secure the Northern Premier League Premier Division title and land a first ever promotion into the second tier of the non-league game. After impressing over two separate loan stints during the campaign, Darcy returned to Pools after featuring during their pre-season campaign before joining Spennymoor Town on a short-term loan.

After returning from Brewery Field, the youngster made a late substitute appearance during Pete Wild’s first game in charge as Pools suffered a 1-0 home defeat against Tamworth and appeared in all three of his side’s National League Cup fixtures. However, he will now return to Hebburn for a third time and he will hope to help the South Tyneside club build on what has been a promising start to a historic season as they sit just outside of the play-off places in the National League North.
After completing the loan deal, Darcy revealed just how quickly the agreement was put in place and believes the move has come at ‘the perfect time’ in his career.

He told the Hornets website: “I am buzzing to be back and it’s the perfect chance for me to get back playing football. I’ve been out on loan once already this season and I just couldn’t wait to get back here. I was buzzing to hear Bobby [Hornets manager Daniel Moore] wanted me to come back here and I think it was the perfect time for me in my career. I went back to Hartlepool, I hadn’t really been playing so it was a great fit for me and the club to come back.
“Bobby text me a couple of days ago and said he wanted it sorted as quick as he could and that was it really. They spoke to me at Hartlepool and got it done within a day really. I’m looking forward to getting out there and hopefully we keep pushing up the table and get some wins.”
