February 9 marks the anniversary of one of Hartlepool United's more notable footballing scalps.
Here's the story behind their 1-0 victory at Sunderland in the Sherpa Van Trophy and your memories of that windy 1988 night.

Sunderland and Hartlepool United have only ever met twice competitively.
The first clash was at Sunderland's former Roker Park home on Tuesday, February 9, 1988, in the northern quarter finals of the Sherpa Van Trophy.
Sunderland were competing in the tournament for the first time after their relegation from the former Division Two the previous May.
While Hartlepool United were enjoying a promising season in Division Four under John Bird, Sunderland were challenging for automatic promotion from Division Three and firm favourites to win the tie.
Pools, however, surprised their hosts with a 1-0 victory courtesy of a second-half Brian Honour effort direct from a corner.
