Hartlepool United's average attendance compared to York, Carlisle and other National League rivals
How do Hartlepool United’s attendances compare to their rivals across the National League?
Hartlepool United received the backing of a passionate travelling support in Saturday’s season-ending defeat at Boston United as Poolies turned the away end pink in support of two local charities.
Pools supporters have followed their beloved club far and wide throughout what has been another season of change on and off the pitch and they have stuck behind Nicky Featherstone and his players in even the most challenging of times. That will not be a surprise to anyone as the club are well known to have one of the most loyal and passionate fanbases in the National League and are the envy of a number of other clubs across the top tier of the non-league game.
The same can be said of the home support as the Prestige Group Stadium has hosted some impressive attendances throughout the season despite Pools producing some very mixed performances and results on their home patch. There have been some positive moments with Landon Smith’s arrival as new owner and chairman preceding memorable atmospheres in wins against Altrincham and Gateshead and the 3-1 win against Carlisle United provided some cheer as hopes of a genuine push for the play-offs were temporarily raised.
There was also an emotional farewell for Featherstone as his side edged a seven-goal thriller in the final home game of his managerial reign with the club he has served as a player, coach, assistant manager and manager. But how does Pools’ average home attendance compare to the likes of York City, Rochdale and their other rivals across the National League?
