With little to play for, some fans have questioned why Warnock hasn’t started more of his younger players.

Here are some of the responses.

@Strickland__Ben: I’m happy Coulson is starting, I feel sorry for our development squads who lost a cup final and potentially lost their playoff places due to their main players being called up to the first team... only to sit on the bench for at least 80 minutes

@RobSc0tt: As expected. A Boro win and wee Duncan to get the goal that takes him to double figures for the season is all I ask

@MikeyHobson3: Surely you’d just give the young lads a go

Middlesbrough fans.

@NathanBish95: Disappointing team for a nothing game

@Geoff_Mawson: And I thought the manager said that the young players would get some game time

@HarryPattison3: Sign Bolasie permanently at all costs

@callumjones9109: Thought he said Brynn was starting a game before the end of the season???

@pauljen27555462: I'd have started all the youngsters today, playing for nothing really.

@s14pel: Malley deserves a start

@AlanHewitt10: What are the alternatives?
