Hartlepool United winger backed to shine during loan spell with National League North neighbours
A Hartlepool United youngster is set to gain valuable experience during a loan spell with National League North neighbours Spennymoor Town.
Highly-rated Hartlepool United youngster Kian Foreman has found the ‘ideal club’ after agreeing to spend the rest of the season on loan at Spennymoor Town.
That was the verdict of Hebburn Town manager Daniel Moore as he reflected on Foreman’s overwhelming positive loan spell with the current Northern Premier League Premier Division leaders. The Pools winger initially linked up with the Hornets in November and went on to score three goals in 18 appearances as Moore’s men continued their unexpected push for a first ever promotion into the National League North. The youngster also provided a memorable moment when he scored a stunning solo goal against Whitby Town that won the Northern Premier League’s January Goal of the Month award.
Foreman’s loan stint with Hebburn was extended until the end of the season - but his spell on South Tyneside has now been brought to a premature end and the 18-year-old will now spend the remainder of the campaign working under former Pools duo Tommy Miller and Matty Dolan at National League North neighbours Spennymoor. Hornets manager Moore was disappointed to lose Foreman’s services and backed the young winger to shine with a club he knows all too well from his own playing career.
Ideal club

He told The Mail: “That’s part of football I think. We had Dan Cameron (on-loan Sunderland goalkeeper) go into the National League and Kian go into the National League North. We aren’t naive, we know we are giving these lads a platform and they can go on and play higher if they do well with us. We were never going to hold on to them forever. Kian made a big impact but we have other players that can help us and we are in a good place. Everyone wants to be part of it and that’s great for us.
“It’s probably an ideal club for Kian I think. At this moment in time, I don’t think the club would mind me saying this, but they probably don’t have a lot to play for this season. They’re safe in the division and I think there are probably too many teams between them and the play-offs. It might be an ideal time for Kian to go there and get some experience at that level because I know Hartlepool think very highly of him so I would imagine he will go back there and be involved with the first-team squad.”
